About
Kajepana Art is an independent studio practice rooted in careful observation, patient making, and the atmosphere of everyday life.
The artist behind Kajepana Art
Looking closely at people, places, and passing light.
Based in Sri Lanka, the studio brings together portraiture, landscape, and quiet interior studies. The practice began with pencil drawings and has grown to include painting, pastel, and digital work while keeping observation at its centre.
Each piece starts with a small moment: an expression held for a second, rain softening a familiar view, or late sunlight moving across a room. The work develops slowly from sketches and tonal studies into finished originals with visible, human marks.

Inspiration is less a single subject than a way of paying attention. Familiar scenes become new when given enough time.
